This charming and stylish 19th century cottage has been sympathetically renovated, combining original features and traditional Highland décor. The open-plan ground floor features a cosy sitting area with wood burning stove, a sleek modern kitchen with stone worktops and a bold contemporary staircase with steel rails and oak treads. A mix of period and modern furniture, paintings and solid oak flooring creates a homely but elegant space.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need, as well as plenty of decent glassware and crockery. The all important boot room has space for all your outdoor gear as well as dog beds (we are a dog friendly house). Heating and hot water provided are by a biomass log boiler that runs on waste timber from the estate, ensuring the house is always warm and eco friendly too.
To the rear of the house there is a large private garden which is securely fenced. There are swings and a tree house slide to keep the children amused. New additions include an outdoor egg chair for relaxing in and a chiminea for BBQs and warming up those chillier evenings. A shallow stream runs through the garden with a waterfall that cascades over a stone wall, providing a wonderfully peaceful background for outdoor eating or relaxing with a drink.
The games room (shared with Stalker's Lodge) has a pool table, table tennis and darts, perfect for wet weather days and evening entertainment.
Keeper's Cottage can be rented together with Stalker's Lodge next door which has a dining table big enough for 10 - perfect for two families holidaying together or an extended family group.
Upstairs there are two cosy double bedrooms featuring designer wallpaper and antique furniture. The comfortable Hypnos beds are made up with feather duvets and fine white cotton linen, ensuring a good night's sleep (the beds can also be split into twins).
The bathroom has a magnificent vintage roll top bath as well as a separate modern shower. Little luxuries like thick cotton towels and organic soaps and bubble bath by the Highland Soap Company ensure bath time is a pleasure.
The bedrooms have lovely views out the front, across the rolling fields of sheep to the loch and hills beyond.
