Location
With its rugged and wild landscape, you`d be forgiven for thinking that Straloch is in the middle of the wilderness, stuck twenty minutes up a track and miles away from the nearest semblance of civilisation.
It`s actually in the heart of Perthshire, fifteen minutes from the A9 (Scotland`s main north-south artery) and the bustling festival theatre town of Pitlochry with its famed salmon ladder. Half an hour east is the market town of Blairgowrie and home to a ludicrously large Tesco. Five minutes away is Kirkmichael with a garage, village shop and a couple of pubs. Edinburgh airport is just 80 minutes away and Glasgow 120 minutes.
For all its unspoiltness, it`s surprisingly accessible and a smashing base for touring Scotland. Or just the place for hunkering down and switching off. The choice is yours. |
